Penulis melalui artikel ini mencoba untuk menguji dan mengeksplorasi produk-produk penafsiran Al-Qur’an dari satu generasi ke generasi berikutnya serta bentuk-bentuk penafsiran yang memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda. Ketika seorang mufassir melakukan kerja penafsiran, faktor situasi politik, latar belakang 'madzhab' yang melingkupi sosok seorang mufassir, sangat terlihat mewarnai produk tafsirnya, sehingga di antara mereka melahirkan produk-produk penafsiran yang cukup beragam. Namun, tidak sedikit para penafsir yang menghasilkan kesalahan dalam penafsirannya karena adanya kesalahpahaman dalam memahami ayat-ayat. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan akurasi dan kehati-hatian dari seorang mufassir dalam memahami Al-Qur'an sehingga menghasilkan penafsiran yang benar. Thahir Mahmud Muhammad Ya'qub memberikan alasan untuk berbagai kesalahan yang biasanya dilakukan oleh mufassir ketika menafsirkan ayat-ayat. Melalui tawaran analisisnya, setidaknya bisa menjadi kerangka acuan bagi mufassir untuk lebih berhati-hati dan teliti dalam melakukan pekerjaan penafsiran al-Qur'an. The author through this article attemps to try and explore the products of Qur’anic interpretation from one generation to the next generation and the pattern that has different characteristics, where the political situation, the background of ‘madzhab’ who surrounding and another when the Mufassir does the work of interpretation is also very visible of coloring the tafsir product, then among them has delivered of diverse product of interpretations. However, no less that produces errors in interpretation because of misconceptions in the understanding of verses. Therefore, it is necessary accuracy and prudence of a mufassir in understanding the Qur’an so as to produce the correct interpretations. Thahir Mahmud Muhammad Ya'qub gives reasons for the error which is usually done by the mufassir when interpreting the verses. His analysis is, at least, can be a frame of reference for the mufassir to be more cautious and meticulous in doing the work of interpretation of the Qur’an.
