Bunuh diri merupakan tindakan (oleh dan pada diri) untuk mengakhiri hidup  dengan berbagai cara, motif, dan  faktor. Naskah ini  bersumber dari  enam pemberitaan koran yang ‘tersadap’ penulis dengan teknik kliping selama tahun 2007. Dari harian Kompas 33 pemberitaan,  Jawa Pos 66, Suara Merdeka 12, Republika 7, Wawasan dan Malang Pos sekali pemberitaan. Pemberitaan terbanyak pada harian JP 66 kali, ditemukan 96 kasus bunuh diri dalam negeri, 9 kasus bunuh diri di luar negeri, dan 13 kasus bom bunuh diri di luar negeri. Jadi total pemberitaan bunuh diri dari dalam dan luar negeri 118 kasus. Hasil temuan berupa bentuk, teknik dan motif, jenis kelamin dan usia, strategi dan piranti, waktu, dan penemu/penolong bunuh diri. Data tersebut, idealnya seorang penyuluh memahami pertama, tiga fungsinya yakni informatif dan edukatif, konsultatif, dan advokatif. Kedua, memahami metode penyuluhan dari aspek enam M yakni man, matter, media, market, money, dan methode. Adapun cara yang dilakukan  penyuluh agama dalam menyumbangkan  karyanya untuk meminimalisasi terjadinya bunuh diri dengan menjaring klien yang mengidap ’penyakit’ agar diluruskan dengan data riil bahwa bunuh diri berdampak buruk,  terutama bagi keluarga atau lingkungan yang ditinggalkannya. Dengan suntikan pesan agamalah usaha menjaring pada klien (yang berinisiatif atau tidak) agar tidak melakukan bunuh diri.kata kunci: Kontribusi, Penyuluh, Bunuh DiriTHE   CONTRIBUTION   OF    THE DISSEMINATORS  IN MINIMIZING SUICIDE.
