One form of the practice of Islamic economics is a lot of talk lately Wattamwil Baitul Mal (BMT) . BMT as microfinance institutions operated with profit sharing principles (Shariah) aims to develop micro and small businesses in order to elevate and defend the dignity and interests of the needy . Baitul Mal wat tamwil (BMT) is deemed capable of maintaining economic stability , especially when the economic crisis in 1997 . BMT in Indonesia was born from the womb of the campus, was originally developed by students at Masjid Salman ITB with try rolling the Shari’ah based financial institutions for small businesses . It turns out that the campus human effort finally welcomed by the community and government Agam is an area that has a special interest in the establishment of the Islamic financial institutions . Most can not be seen with the establishment of BMT has been in their respective villages by 82 BMT with stimulant funding of Rp 300 million. BMT is expected of course be able to apply the principles of Islamic economics such as building the Islamic Tawhid (belief), Fair (fairness), Nubuwah (Prophethood), Khilafah (rule) and Ma’ad (result).
