NILAI-NILAI AJARAN SALAFI DALAM BUKU AJAR BAHASA ARAB AL-ARABIYYAH BAYNA YADAIK (Analisis Semiotik Roland Barthes)
Abstract
This paper aims to find the values of Salafi in Arabictextbook al-Arabiyyah Bayna Yadaik (ABY). These values areanalyzed using Barthesian Semiotics. In his views, verbaland non-verbal sign has both connotative and denotativemeaning. Therefore this research is critical to find the covertmeaning in the textbook in order to get a clear ideologicalperspective. After reading ABY through BarthesianSemiotic views, this research finds that several Islamicteachings are covertly applied in Salafi groups while othersdon’t. Those teaching are the obligation to cover the face ofwomen when facing or dealing with men who are notmahram, the ban on praying together in the mosque forwomen, and prohibition of mixing between men andwomen who are not mahram in public places. Those are allbased on the Quran and Hadits.
