STRUKTUR NARASI NOVEL SEJARAH ISLAM 17 RAMADAN
Abstract
17 Ramadan is a historical islamic novel by Jurji Zaidan. Thisis the fourth of his twenty-three historical novel. 17 Ramadanis originally published by al-Hilal newspaper. This noveltells about the events before and after the murder of CaliphAli ibn Abi Talib on 17 Ramadan. This article presentsthe narrative structure of the novel with a structuralanalysis of Greimas’ narrative theory. This researchaims to identify the structural action with binaryopposition; the sender-recipient, subject and object, andthe adjuvant-obstacle. The result finds that thereare four main actantial structures. These structuresconstruct five macrostructures, those are the linearstructure of revenge-action-judgement, the structure of thecharacters’ vindication, the linear structure of insult-thesanity-and-holy-place- chastisement, the structure withisotope of place clarification, and the structure of heroine.
