KRISIS EKOLOGI GLOBAL DALAM PERSPEKTIF ISLAM
Abstract
This paper discusses the most essential aspect in developing environment, which is the preservation of equilibrium between natural and social environments. This balance can be achieved through rising an awareness toward equilibrium principles and avoiding destructive attitudes. For Muslim, there is an excellent teaching from the Quran: “But seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and [yet], do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you. And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters”. The appreciation of Muslim attitudes upon this verse opens up the possibility to create awareness among them on the important of preserving environments. This implies that those who practices the teachings of Islam should have a more sense of ecological crisis than to those who do not enough understanding of the teachings of Islam.Keywords: ecological crisis, globalization, and Islamic teachings.
