Kepemimpinan Perempuan Dalam Perspektif Fiqh Siyasah

Abstract

Debate continues among Muslim scholars regarding women's political leadership. Even though many scholars prohibit women from occupying positions of power based on verses of the Koran such as Surah An-Nisa 34 and Hadith Abu Bakar, a number of reformers argue that progress in society now considers women equal to men. The aim of this article is to describe conflicting views among scholars, analyze their historical and contextual perspectives, and evaluate how reinterpretation can adapt ancient thought to a modern context. Historical bias in the interpretation of verses and hadith, which is influenced by modern culture that marginalizes women, is currently a challenge for modern Muslim reformers. They emphasize that women have the skills and experience necessary to assume leadership roles and stress that leadership should be based on ability, not gender.
