Pre-service teachers’ perceptions towards ICT integration in EFL classrooms during teaching practicum

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the perceptions of EFL pre-service teachers regarding the integration of ICT in EFL classrooms during teaching practicum. The study involved 40 EFL pre-service teachers from a university in Vietnam and employed a mixed-method design to achieve its objectives. A questionnaire based on the Technology Acceptance Model was developed to gather quantitative data, and semi-structured interviews were conducted to obtain in-depth information. The results obtained from both quantitative and qualitative data indicated that the EFL pre-service teachers generally had positive perceptions of using ICT in EFL classrooms during their teaching practicum. The study also revealed several suggestions for improving ICT integration in the teaching and learning process.
