Evaluasi kegiatan seleksi koleksi perpustakaan sebagai pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi dosen di lingkungan UIN Imam Bonjol Padang

Abstract

Lecturers are involved in the collection selection process prior to procurement. There are various ways of selecting collections such as using publisher catalogs, publisher websites, user suggestions, google forms, syllabus. The purpose of this study was to find out the collection selection process carried out by the Library UPT UIN Imam Bonjol Padang, the response of lecturers in the selection process, and the fulfillment of lecturers' information needs regarding the selection results. This research is descriptive quantitative in nature. The author will describe the collection selection process along with lecturer responses and to fulfill information needs. Then the number of fulfillment of lecturers' information needs on collection proposals is described in percentage form. The results showed that only a small proportion of lecturers (12.2%) of the participating lecturers responded to the collection proposals by filling out the Google form, Google Doc, document files, syllabus delivery and course distribution. UPT Library UIN Imam Bonjol Padang can fulfill most (73.5%) of the proposed collection. Libraries need to increase promotion related to proposing collections to lecturers. Collaboration with the academic and student affairs divisions as well as TIPD needs to be improved to obtain syllabus data and distribution of courses for collection selection
