Abstract

Abstract: Social self-concept is a form of one's perceptions, thoughts, feelings, and evaluations of the social tendencies that exist in oneself, related to their capacity to relate to the world outside themselves, feeling capable and valuable in the scope of their social interactions. In social interaction, not everyone can interact well in their environment, because there are negative causes for a person's self-concept. One of the negative causes that affect the social self-concept is a broken home family. A broken home is a family condition that is no longer intact. Research on social self-concept in broken home families conducted on children aged 6 years in Sekadau Hilir District, Sekadau Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine positive self-concept and negative self-concept in a child aged 6 years and the factors that influence positive and negative self-concept. The theory used in this research is Erik Erikson's theory of the concept of development through social and environmental experiences. This research focuses on qualitative descriptive study research methods. The research subject is FI who has a broken home family. Data obtained from the field through in-depth interviews with FIs directly and interviews with Permata Hati PAUD teachers who are FI teachers. The in-depth data analysis technique of this research is descriptive. The findings of this study indicate that the FI self-concept is positive. FI is able to interact well in his environment, both with friends and parents. The influencing factor is the concept of accepting reality and a good family and environment.
