MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DI SMAN 2 PAYAKUMBUH

Abstract

In general, the reality that occurs with a small number of teachers and a large number of students is less likely for the teacher to be able to provide maximum motivation to students. A large number of students, not proportional to the number of teachers, will usually have difficulty protecting students with maximum motivation. The type of research is field research. The method used is a qualitative method through a descriptive approach, in this case with regard to student learning motivation in learning Islamic religious education at SMAN 2 Payakumbuh. To collect data in this research, the authors use observation, interview and documentation techniques. The results of this study were obtained: 1) The intrinsic motivation of SMAN 2 Payakumbuh students in learning Islamic religious education was obtained through awards given by teachers with a sense of responsibility that students had. The award is a motivation for students to be more developed and advanced in their learning process. 2) Extrinsic motivation of SMAN 2 Payakumbuh students is obtained from the motivation given by teachers, principals, and all environments in the school. Adequate infrastructure is one of the motivations for student learning in achieving goals. 3) Supporting factors in increasing student learning motivation in learning Islamic religious education are students being given Islamic religious learning guidance, in the form of congregational prayer, tahfiz, reading the Koran delivering learning materials. The inhibiting factor in increasing students' learning motivation in learning Islamic religious education is the lack of hours of Islamic religious education lessons in schools. In addition to the lack of teaching hours for Islamic religious education teachers, students in learning religion are less aware of the importance of learning Islam.
