Journal of Islamic Law (JIL) (e-ISSN 2721-5040 & p-ISSN 2721-5032) is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year (February and August) by Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LP2M), Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Pontianak. This journal, first published on February 25, 2020, provides a forum for academics and researchers interested in current issues of Islamic law and society in Muslim-majority countries. This journal also aims to bridge the gap between textual and contextual approaches and integrate the two in facing the challenges of changing laws and increasingly complex social institutions. The journal focuses on the issue of Islamic law and society in Muslim-majority countries with various approaches of normative, juridical, sociology, anthropology, philosophy, history, criminology, political sciences, psychology, and economics, and is intended to communicate the original research and current issues on the subject. Novelty and recency of issues, however, are the priority in publishing. Journal of Islamic Law (JIL) has been accredited by the Decree of the General Director of Strengthening Research and Development, Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 225/E/KPT/2022 in 2023. This accreditation is effective from publication Vol. 1, No. 2, 2020 (Sinta 4). This journal has become a CrossRef Member since year 2020. Therefore, all articles published by this journal will have unique DOI number.
