Peningkatan Hasil Belajar IPA Peserta Didik Kelas VIII Materi Sistem Ekskresi melalui Pengaruh Model STEM
Abstract
Permasalahan penelitian ini berawal dari perolehan hasil belajar IPA Biologi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 11 Kupang yang belum memuaskan. Rerata hasil belajar IPA biologi berturut-turut baru mencapai 63,65 selama dua tahun ini. Rerata hasil belajar tersebut berdampak pada rendahnya pencapaian KKM berturut-turut baru mencapai 38%, 41%. Berdasarkan permasalahan ini akan dilakukan perbaikan pada proses pembelajaran agar hasil belajar dan capaian KKM dapat ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen. Penelitian ini dilakukan dua kelas yaitu kelas perlakuan dan kelas kontrol. Sampel penelitian ini peserta didik kelas VIII B sebagai kelas eksperimen sedangkan siswa kelas VIII D sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar tes hasil belajar, lembar pengamatan aktivitas peserta didik dan lembar pengamatan kemampuan guru dalam pengelolaan pembelajaran. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan Tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menujukkan rata-rata hasil belajar peserta didik terjadi peningkatan yaitu model STEM dari 54,52 menjadi 88,68 peningkatan sebesar 34,16, pembelajaran langsung dari 48,12 menjadi 70,33 peningkatan sebesar 22,21. Rata-rata reliabilitas aktivitas peserta didik model STEM adalah 83,68 %, dan model pembelajaran langsung 72,89%. Rata-rata reliabilitas pengelolaan model STEM adalah 96,42% dan pembelajaran langsung 81,58%.
