Pengembangan Bahan Ajar Berbasis Kearifan Lokal dalam Meningkatkan Minat Membaca Mahasiswa UNTAN “Dinamika Pernikahan Kalimantan Barat (Melayu Sambas, Tionghoa dan Dayak Tamambaloh)’’
Abstract
Indonesia merupakan negara yang sangat kaya akan budaya dimana di dalam kebudayaan tersebut, terdapat adat atau peristiwa yang berkembang dimasyarakat dan selalu dilakukan secara turun temurun. Hampir di setiap daerah di Indonesia memiliki kebudayaan yang selalu diwariskan dari generasi ke generasi. Dengan adanya kebudayaan atau kebiasaan yang dilakukan turun temurun tersebut, diharapkan pelestarian budaya tidak hilang tergerus oleh budaya asing yang masuk ke Indonesia. Kalimantan Barat merupakan suatu Provinsi yang terletak di Pulau Kalimantan. Provinsi ini dikenal dengan tiga suku dengan penduduk terbanyak, yaitu Suku Melayu, Suku Cina dan Suku Dayak. Ketiga suku ini memiliki beberapa budaya pernikahan yang selalu dilakukan secara turun temurun. Penelitian pengembangan bahan ajar ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan suatu produk yang nantinya akan bermanfaat bagi mahasiswa dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris mereka, dan masyarakat Kalimantan Barat, dalam memperkenalkan kekayaan budaya yang dimiliki oleh Kalimantan Barat. Sebagai bahan ajar, produk yang dihasilkan merupakan materi ringan berbahasa Inggris, dengan menggunakan kosakata yang mudah dipahami, dan tidak disertai oleh soal latihan di akhir bacaan, sehingga peserta didik dapat membaca dengan santai.
