Abstract
Komitmen profesional sangat penting untuk merealisasikan kinerja dosen, faktor yang diduga mempengaruhi komitmen profesional adalah kompetensi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh kompetensi terhadap komitmen profesional dosen. Penelitian dilakukan pada 160 subjek penelitian yang berprofesi sebagai dosen di perguruan tinggi. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan skala kompetensi dan skala komitmen profesional yang memiliki tiga dimensi : komitmen afektif, komitmen kontinyu dan komitmen normatif. Hasil yang diperoleh dari teknik analisis regresi sederhana adalah bahwa (1) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kompetensi dosen terhadap komitmen afektif , kontribusi kompetensi terhadap komitmen afektif sebesar 32,6% (2) terdapat pengaruh kompetensi terhadap komitmen kontinuan dengan sumbangan sebesar 3,3% (3) terdapat pengaruh kompetensi terhadap komitmen normatif pada profesi dosen dengan kontribusi sebesar 25,6%
