Abstract

Media convergence is the integration of various media functions into one increasingly sophisticated media. While digitization is the process of transferring (converting) print, audio, and video forms into digital form. The purpose of digitization is for efficiency and optimization of many things, one of which is to increase the resolution, sound, image to be more stable. Convergence and digitalization cannot be separated, there will never be a complete and correct media convergence without media digitization. On the other hand, digitization is a logical consequence of the growth of media convergence. Convergence and digitalization are implications of increasingly sophisticated and modern technological developments. In order for convergence and digitalization to work well, they must face several challenges, namely, adequate infrastructure, availability of capital, readiness and human resources, and regulations governing both.
